Why cant i purchase the crew leader status right now? I wanted to do so so i could get in on the life time member?

Davie,
They closed down new Crew Leader memberships until the end of the Life Member enrollment period. After the 14th they'll open up the crew leader memberships again, so you can still sign up as a member after that. Here's the quote from the ITS articlethat explains why:
"We’ve also disabled any new sign-ups of Crew Leaders until the Life Membership offer has expired, just to ensure our existing members have the opportunity they deserve." -ITS Crew
