I don't carry a WML concealed but I did when I worked the street and in the mil. As some have already said, WMLs are the tits when working patrol...it's so nice to have a hand free to cuff and manipulate things. My bedside gun has a light but I always take an extra when investigating bumps in the night as I'm not going to go searching around the outside of the house at low ready. Different tools for different jobs.
The people-are-going-to-shoot-at-the-light thing is a nonissue with good training.

I have a Smith & Wesson Micro90 Compact LED Pistol Light on my M&P45. There are "momentary" buttons on either side that are right at the tip of my fingers when my finger is outside the trigger well. And, there is an on/off slider switch at the bottom of the light.

A glock 22 with a trl-1 lives on my night stand, my wife has a m&p9 with one on it on her nightstand. I figure most likely scenario is gonna be a bump in the night and I will have to leave the bedroom and investigate. So when it comes down to opening doors and doggie gates, having the WML just measles things easier as I navigate the house. She likes it because she can ID someone from our bedroom all the way to the end of the hall (18 feet) in total darkness with an eliment of surprise. I've taught her that you only turn the light on to ID and your ready to issue commands/shoot as soon as the light goes on, preferably from an area on some type of cover. Works well for us.

Just purchased a surefire x300 for my glock. In my experience I've had really good luck with surefire and can get great prices on them so I usually go to them first.
I believe a WML is ideal if available but one needs to train with it and realize its not a flashlight and remember where the point that light you are also pointing a loaded firearm. I know it seems like common sense but I've seen some people do some weird things with them.

Highwaystreets... Just curious, you said above that you get great prices on Surefire products, I'm just curious if you know of a good dealer that has great prices, or if you have a non-publically available deal? Thanks.

To live a fulfilled life, dedicated to the service of my fellow citizens, is the only life I have ever wanted to live.
