History of U.S. Spies and How Intelligence is Gathered
It’s hard to beat a good spy movie. Whether someone is handing over classified information in public at a park exchange or secretly listening in on a high-level conversation, spies have always floated in the background of our media and our real lives. How does it actually work in real life though? We recently uncovered a series from the ITS Archives that does a great job explaining the history behind our nation’s intelligence system and the people that work within it.
This three part series breaks down the history of spies and intelligence, the cycle of delivery and consumption of that intelligence and finally how you can collect and make intelligence work for you. While you may not be planning to load a dead drop with microfilm anytime soon, this series is still a fascinating read into one of the world’s most secret professions.
